DAI is intended to modernize and transform financial management within the Department of Defense (DoD), by implementing integrated capabilities that absorb many legacy systems and create standardized business processes on one platform. These integrated capabilities are supported by Oracle Federal Financials, a part of the Commercial-off-the-Shelf (COTS) Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) product line. Utilizing a single architecture and foundation to support multiple diverse components, DAI is a real-time, web-based Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system used by financial managers, auditors, and service providers such as the Defense Finance and Accounting Service (DFAS) to make sound business decisions in support of the Warfighter.

Prior to implementing DAI at each participating Defense Agency or Field Activity, data conversion activities – including discovering, cleansing, mapping, and migrating legacy financial/contract data and General Ledger (GL) balances to the new ERP system – must be successfully completed. CSCI supports each Agency and Field Activity to perform these activities within the legacy environment to ensure a clean migration to DAI. Our work involves assessing data compliance and associated risks, making recommendations on data element rules, and mapping key business processes and their supporting data to major DAI Oracle modules such as Procure to Pay (P2P), Order to Cash (O2C), Cost Accounting (CA), and Budget to Report (B2R). We then perform data standardization, quality, and cleansing within the legacy environment and support the formal migration to DAI.

After implementation, CSCI ensures that DAI users are properly equipped with the knowledge and skills to access and operate DAI for their roles. We guide customers through the DAI modules and assist them in creating project structures that facilitate effective financial management. We also prepare training guides with hands-on exercises that accelerate a comprehensive understanding of the interfaces and partner systems with which DAI interacts.

CSCI is proud to say we have continuously supported this critical financial management modernization effort since 2009 and have assisted twenty-one (21) agencies (thus far) through successful DAI implementation.
