Having supported the Warfighter on an ongoing basis since 2002, CSCI is wholly committed to our nation’s armed forces. We are therefore honored to announce that one of our associates has received the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) Patriot Award. This award was formally presented to CSCI Project Manager Rhonda Lane for her support of associate Aaron Conklin’s military participation. Conklin serves as a Senior Auditor on our Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) project and is a major in the U.S. Army.

The Patriot Award reflects the efforts made to support citizen warriors through a wide range of measures, including flexible schedules, time off prior to and after deployment, caring for families, and granting leaves of absence if needed. An employee serving in the National Guard or Reserve may nominate individual supervisors and bosses for support provided directly to the nominating Service member and his or her family.

In Conklin’s nomination form, he shared the following about Lane’s support as his Project Manager: “My supervisor has been extremely supportive with all of my military obligations. I only worked for CSCI for a few short months before being notified that I was going to be deployed to the Middle East. My employer stood by me throughout the whole process and constantly provided assurance that I would return to the same team and job functions after deployment. My supervisor also offered to help out my family while I was gone if anything was needed.”

Michele Meyer, CSCI President and CEO, shared the following: “One of the most rewarding aspects of our industry is being able to directly support our armed forces. We consider it a great privilege to hire reservists and veterans to provide key services to the many branches of the Department of Defense (DoD).”

CSCI would also like to publicly commend Lane and the entire team for their unwavering support to cover all aspects of the project while Conklin was stationed overseas.
